Pastor Chris is the primary teaching and leadership voice in setting the mindset and vision of First Baptist Church Murrells Inlet and its mission to equip the family for one pursuit.

Pastor Spires was called as our Lead Pastor on January 7th, 2007. Pastor Spires and Hannah have three sons: Henning, Whitman, McTeer, and daughter, Sarah Jane.

In his role as Executive Pastor, Scott works alongside Pastor Chris to lead the pastors and staff in execution of the vision to accomplish the mission of equipping the family for one pursuit. Several of his specific responsibilities include men’s ministry, Sunday school, new members and assimilation.

Pastor Scott was called as our Executive Pastor in September, 2016. Pastor Scott and Whitney have two married daughters: Jessica (Corey), and Addison (Kevin).

In his role as Pastor of Administration & Media, Ryan works alongside the Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, and leadership staff to provide direction and oversight of ministry and staff, taking the lead on the day to day operations necessary to execute the vision and mission of the church. As the Administrative Pastor he oversees the big-picture by providing leadership in organization and administration (eg., finance, strategic planning, and overall operations).

Pastor Ryan was called as Student Pastor in June, 2015 and later on as Pastor of Administration & Media in June, 2020. Pastor Ryan and Tracy have three daughters: Clara, Violet, and Elise.

In his role as Pastor of Worship & Ministry, Robbie seeks to engage congregational worship in prayer and song to our Lord Jesus Christ. Robbie oversees the congregational care ministry with Ms. Jane. Together they both seek to uplift, encourage, and pray for those who suffer through health related issues or physical limitations that do not allow them to be present weekly with the body of Christ.

Pastor Robbie was called as Pastor of Worship & Ministry in April, 2013. Pastor Robbie and Lisa have two children: Hannah and Josh.

In his role as Pastor of Generational Discipleship & Families, Steve provides leadership and oversight to all generational programing and groups to embrace the vision of equipping the family for one pursuit. He is also the Head of School and provides leadership, and strategic vision for Coastal Christian Academy.

Pastor Steve was called as Pastor of Generational Discipleship & Families, Head of School in August, 2023. Pastor Steve and Robin have two children: Ellie and Joseph.

In her role as Children’s Ministry Director, Courtney serves as the lead administrator of all Kids Ministry programs here at First Baptist Church Murrells Inlet. She provides direction and oversight in order to nurture children to understand who God is and the great love in which he created and shares with us to worship and serve Him.

Courtney was called as Children’s Ministry Director in September, 2014. Courtney has two sons; Ryan and Hayden.

In his role as Co-Director of Student Ministry, Noah provides leadership and direction in encouraging our students to participate in what God invites them to be and do for Him. He works alongside the other Co-Director to minister to youth and their families.

Noah was called as Co-Director of Student Ministry in June, 2021.

In her role as Finance Director, Sam is responsible for tracking resources given, managing accounts and payments, generating reports for analysis, and coordinating with staff to help ministries run effectively.

Sam was called as our Finance Director October, 2023. Sam and Billy have three kids: Courtney, Ryan, and Devin.

In her role as Administrative Assistant, Rachel provides administrative, organizational, creative, and ministerial support to the Pastor of Administration & Media. She assists daily in the operations that are necessary to execute the vision and mission of the church.

Rachel was called as our Administrative Assistant September, 2023.
